JMJ Memorial Care LLC was founded not merely as a business, but as a quiet apostolate seeking to offer labor in service to memory, mercy, and the enduring truths of the Faith. We clean and preserve gravestones, monuments, and all types of stonework with the understanding that every act of care, however small, participates in the order and beauty of God’s creation.
“The memory of the just is blessed, and their resting places are a testimony to the hope of eternal life.” St. Gregory of Nyssa
“The bodies of the dead are not mere trifles to be cast aside; they are vessels once inhabited by the soul, and destined for resurrection.” St. Augustine
“We have loved them during life; let us not abandon them in death.” St. Ambrose
“Let us not neglect the memory of the departed. For the help we give them, though small, is a great gain.” St. John Chrysostom
We take seriously the call of Sirach 7:37–40, which speaks not only to remembrance, but to the spiritual duty of mercy:
“A gift hath grace in the sight of all the living, and restrain not grace from the dead. Be not wanting in comforting them that weep, and walk with them that mourn. Be not slow to visit the sick: for by these things thou shalt be confirmed in love. In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin.”
The Church teaches that to “restrain not grace from the dead” is to offer alms, prayers, and sacrifices on their behalf, a practice rooted in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New. This is the spirit in which we serve: not merely preserving stone but participating in the spiritual work of mercy.
We mourn with those who mourn. We comfort the grieving. We visit what others have forgotten. We labor in silence, knowing that the fruit of our work is not measured in applause, but in fidelity.
As St. Teresa of Ávila reminds us:
Let nothing disturb you, Let nothing frighten you, All things are passing away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.
This is the heart of our mission. We serve with patience, reverence, and the peace that comes from knowing our work is offered to the One who sees all.
JMJ Memorial Care is veteran-owned, but more deeply, it is Christ-centered. We serve families, parishes, and communities with devotion, believing that every name carved in stone is a reminder of eternity, and that to care for the past is to prepare the soul for what lasts.
